ratio:film acquires twig film

Ratio Film is pleased to announce that it has acquired Twig Film in a bid to expand the company's production capability.

The Twig team have already been incorporated into the Ratio offices, and there is a very positive feeling in the office somewhat at odds with the prevailing economic gloom. Ratio associate Rip Colen welcomed the move, "The acquisition of Twig means that Ratio can now draw upon the Twig's team's experience in production of projects as varied as television series like Westbeach through to feature films like Second in Command and Nativity.  We believe that the synergy between production and the exploitation of those productions is increasingly important for the survival of small independent companies like Ratio."

The incorporation of a production entity within Ratio will not lessen the desire of the company to expand its catalogue of product from third party producers and directors. Turner confirmed, "We see this as an opportunity to better represent third party producers and directors.  We have always considered Ratio to be one of the more creatives-friendly sales and distribution companies, and that will not change with this development.  We continue to look for finished product that has commercial potential and which displays creative talent from third parties. Having our production division will mean that we can also contribute product.  The majority of our sales and distribution product will continue to be from producers and directors outside the company."
